It depends on the kit (qualitative or quantitative detection kit) and the instrument you are using. If you are using a qualitative detection kit in combination with the carousel-based LightCycler® system, normally up to 30 samples can be analyzed during one real-time PCR run. The LightCycler® 480 instruments allow a simultaneous analysis of 94 samples.
In the case of foodproof® Quantification Kits standards have to be used to create calibration curves which can be saved as permanent templates for the next real-time PCR runs. As the PCR efficiency can vary with different lots of reagents, BIOTECON Diagnostics recommends the generation of a new calibration curve every time a new lot of the quantification kit is used.
